Classroom Activities
We will be having many great activities and field trips this year!
In this classroom you will find that the desks are arranged into groups. Students will be working individually as well as in groups. Students will learn to work and find answers as a team, and will learn when to take the lead and when to give others a chance.
Around the classroom we have "centers". These centers are the following:
1) Poetry Center
2) Computer/iPad Center
3) Math Center
4) Reading Center
Students will be getting into teams every friday. The teams will get 20 minutes in each center and then rotate to experience each center and be engaged at all times.
Students will also be having "Fun Friday" to practice what was learned during the week with fun educational games. Fun Friday will take place every friday starting the first week of school.
This is a hands-on classroom. iPads will be will be provided for each student to use during class time to work on the assignments.
By the end of the school year, students will be able to successfully complete online assignments and projects, as well as on paper.
To access homework, assignments, projects and grades, students will be required to check online. Progress Reports will be sent to parents every two weeks. Progress Reports are to be signed and returned to me the following school day.
Parent involvement is very important for a student's success. We need to work together to achieve the best possible learning experience. Parents should be aware of the online website that is available for students, and the extra online practice on each lesson that was taught.
